About Dream Team Challenge

A bit of history

The Dream Team Challenge started out with 4 or 5 guys putting a few quid into a pot and choosing their own dream team players, marking the points themselves, based on a popular template.

They were fed up of paying their £5 entry fee on the telephone and never having a realistic chance to win anything. The same pattern every week would be to look into the newspaper that had the top few teams and then have to call up to find out where one was positioned.

So disillusioned, they went it alone. It wasn't about the million dollar prize, it was about the chance of winning something, knowing some of the people in the challenge and a sense of involvement.

Over time, through word of mouth, people started asking if they could also join in when the following season started. Without any desire to grow the number of people involved it started to grow to the point where managing entries and points became a little time consuming. Within a few years, numbers were into the hundreds.

Some technology was introduced to aid this management and in 2009 the Dream Team Challenge was officially born to the UK on the Internet.

A bit more info

What Dream Team Challenge is proud to offer is a challenge where by a manager is not penalised for choosing a player that gets injured within the first week and has to wait a few months until the transfer window.

The squad rotation allows both the casual enthusiast and the more focused player to tailor their team week by week.

The cup competition adds further excitement to the season and everyone has a chance to conquer the teams at the top of the league table.

There are no phone calls and a one off fee at team registration is a simple process. Importantly, there is great opportunity to pick up a monetary reward right throughout the league table and the cup challenges. The aspiration is to give everyone a chance and to really get involved.

Prize pools

The total prize pool for any given challenge is driven by projected up take. Entries are free! The only costs are voluntary as the challenge progresses through the season when the transfer window is open.

This model adopted by Dream Team Challenge and is completely transparent. The larger the number of participants, the larger the prize funds but most importantly of all, the more widely distributed the pools giving everyone something to play for!
